For over 30 years, Dean Crispen has been a competitive singles and doubles handball player. Not only has he won numerous California singles and doubles titles in both 3-wall and 4-wall, he has competed and won tournaments in other states and at the USHA Nationals.
One of the locations where Dean has been most successful is the Olympic Club. He has been the Open Doubles Champion an impressive seven times (1996, 1998, 1999, and 2001 with James Komsthoeft, 2003 with Chris Tico, 2011 with Anthony Collado, and 2011 with Lou Barberini). Dean also won the Open Singles Champion in 2011. Other wins include a one-wall Open Doubles Championship at Golden State Park, a 4-wall Open Doubles at the San Mateo Elks, a 4-wall 50 Singles at the Santa Rosa Turkey Shoot, and a 3-wall Venice Beach Open Singles title. One of his biggest California wins was the Palm Desert Open Singles Championship against Marcus Chavez. Outside of California, Dean traveled to the Washington Athletic Club and to Kauai where he won both singles and doubles championships.
Dean has also been competitive at the USHA Nationals. After being the Open Singles runner up in 1998, Dean went on to become the 2000 Open Singles Champion and 2004 35+ Singles Champion.
