Howie Wyrsch

Inducted as a Player in 1986

Howie started his handball career at the San Francisco YMCA.  It took him only two years before he won the club championship.  He later played at the Golden Gate Park Courts than the South End Rowing Club where he won most of his matches.

Howie won several local tournaments and was a USHA National Champion.  His greatest wins were over players such as the great Bob Brady and Rudy Stadlberger.  His most prestigious win was winning the First Golden Gate Park tournament at the courts dedication.  Howie is most known to fierce aggressiveness and clutch play.

Congratulations on your introduction into the Northern California Handball Hall of Fame.
