Juniors & Player Development

The Future of Handball is literally in the good hands our youth. The NCHA supports dozens of junior players in Northern California by sponsoring play-days and clinics, providing low cost memberships (only $5 per year), and offering stipends to underwrite tournament travel expenses.

The best way to get more people to play the Perfect Game is to mentor young players. Play with them so they can have fun learning the game, tell them about tournaments and play days, and give them a ride. Gloves and balls are available at discounts for juniors ($12.50 per pair for gloves). Email us or call Jim Peixoto at 831.724.0937 to purchase some, or for help, advice or feedback of any kind.

Junior Tournaments

Junior tournaments (play-days) are twice a year sponsored by NCHA members, so check the calendar for dates and locations.

A great thing about getting involved with handball is the opportunity to travel to tournaments around the country. Each year there are Junior National tournaments for ages 17 and under in one-wall (New York), 3-wall (Venice Beach, California), and 4-wall (different location each year). There are also age divisions at the USHA 4-wall National Tournament. The NCHA provides support to help you travel to these tournaments, so get in touch with us to learn more.

Collegiates

There is a national Collegiate Tournament sponsored by the USHA for college students.

Get connected

The best ideas about juniors come from juniors themselves, so let us know what we can do for you. We can help you get equipment (gloves, ball, eyeguards) and find you a place to play and some coaching. If you need any help or have some suggestions, get in touch with Bob Kass at (408) 248-1254. Sign up on our players list and let us know you want to be kept informed on juniors activities.
